Abstract

The discussion of this thesis is about the kinds and the meaning of the basketbal1 register in internet. Register is one of the language varieties, which is a series of certain terms. The other people may find difficulties, in understanding those terms, if they are not the member of a certain profession. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive method. This method uses some steps: collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data. This research uses descriptive method because the data are described systematically. While the data which are used in this research are all of the basketball registe found in Internet.In this research,the researcher analyzes all of the data, because the total numbers of the data are less than 100 data. As the result of this study, the researcher finds seven kinds of basketball register namely; basketball register referring to the moving of the ball, the strategy of the game which consists of the blocking out and defense, the player position,the foul, the violation, the officiating, and the game court.
