Abstract

This research discusses about English register on economy. This thesis will answer two questions. Namely the kinds of English register on economy and the purpose of using English register on economy. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive method because it is conducted as the most appropriate method in relation with the problems of this research. This method uses some steps: collecting, classifying, and analyzing. At last, the researcher gives the conclusion. Meanwhile, the data of this research are sentences which contain English register on economy founds in Time Magazine.In fact, the population of this research is 100 sentences. So, it is not too large in number to analyze. That is why, this study applies total sampling. It means that all of the data are analyzed one by one. There are two kinds of English register on economy namely, the English Registers of Macroeconomy and English registers of Microeconomy.Furthermore, the research finds three purposes of using English registers on economy. They are representatives, directives and declaratives. By doing this research, the researcher finds that the English registers on economy are commonly used in a certain context, especially in the article of economy.
