Abstract

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is a masterpiece of the author from America; Mark Twain. The aims of the study are:(1) to know the characters of Mark Twain, (2) to know the characters of Huck Finn in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, (3) to find out the similarities between Mark Twain's and Huck Finn's characters are reflected in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The data corpus consists of all dialogues, events, and narration in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.Meanwhile,in data collection,library research and internet browsing are applied in this study. Then, in this thesis, the writer uses physiological approach to analyze the character of Mark Twain and Huck Finn. In this thesis, the writer discusses about the relation between Mark Twain's life and his works. The writer find out that Mark Twain uses his life experiences to describe the character of Huck Finn in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. There are some clues indicate that Huck Finn's character is reflected from Mark Twain's character, although i is described in the different ways. As Missourian boy, Mark Twain grows up as adventurous boy, naughty boy, curious boy, hungered for affection, and having deep sense of humanity.Meanwhile,The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn also illustrates Huck Finn as Missourian boy, naughty boy, loyal boy, curious boy, adventurous boy, hungered for affection, and having deep sense of humanity. Finally, it can be concluded that Mark Twain has reflected his character to describe the character of Huck Finn in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
