Abstract

This research discuss about three kinds of homonym those are homophone and homograph, homophone, and homograph. Homonym is a word that has the sameness in pronunciation and spelling, but different in meaning.Homophone is two or more words which have the same pronunciation but different in spelling and meaning. While homograph is a word that has the same spelling but different in pronunciation and meaning. This analysis offers three problems, namely, the homonymous words found in the Time magazine, the kinds of homonymy, and the meaning of homonymous words. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive method. This method uses some steps: collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data. While the data that are used in this research are all of the homonymous words which are found in the Time magazine. In this research, the researcher analyzes all of the data,because the total number of the data less than 100 words.
