Abstract
The goal of this study is to know the impact of teacher certification toward the improvement of education quality and learning-teaching processes. It is a qualitative research. The subject of the research is primary- school teachers in Madiun. They graduated from Open University. The data were collected using interviews, observations, and documentations. The data analysis made use of Miles and Huberman model. The results indicated that teachers, especially those of primary schools who graduated from Open University, had insightful extensive knowledge, high scientific academic culture, increasing performance, good quality in learning-teaching processes, independent attitudes in work, and good skills in scientific activities. Besides, students’ achievements increased and they kept high discipline in school assignments.
