Abstract

Material stock is an important factor to make production process run successfully. It is due to the fact that without material stock, a company cannot increase its production in a short time to fulfill the increasing demand of consumers. The lack of a company to fulfill consumers' need on time may cause them to get rid the product is indispensable to offter customers the best service, to do efficient production process, and to arrange the stock availability at determined levels, so that the invested money is stable. The study is aimed to reveal the amount of economical order, that of re-order point, annual order frequency, and the total cost of order system performed in a year in the tofu company "Sari Murni" of Madiun. The research shows that (1) the amount of economical order for one order which reguires minimum total cost is 13,765 kilogram, (2) that of re-order point in which the rest of stock is up to 3,615.084 kilogram should make a re-order, (3) annual order frequency is 22, and (4) the total cost of order in year is Rp. 959,113,046.
