Abstract

This research examined the parents' involvement and the students' perception of their teachers' support by controlling intelligence. The analysis, using the multivariate regression, shows that the parents' involvement and the students' perception of their teachers' support by controlling intelligence was significantly related to the student' achievement. (F=5.005; R2=122; p=.005). The higher the parents' involvement and the students' perception of their teachers' support were, the higher achievement the student gained. Conversely, the lower parents' involvement and the students' perception of their teachers' support were, the lower achievement the students obtained. The students' achievement of 76, 4th and 5th grades in SD Santa Maria 1-2 Madiun, was identified in terms of Civics and Social Science, Bahasa Indonesia and English, Mathematics, and Science performance. The stepwise and weigh predictor analysis shows that the parents' involvement accounted 6.956%; the students' perception of their teachers' support accounted 2.178%; the intelligence controlling the parents' involvements and the student's perception of the their teachers' support accounted 25.226%. However, the parents' involvement was not determined in Civics and Social Science and English performance. Likewise, the students' perception of their teacher support was not determined in Mathematics, Bahasa Indonesia and English performance. The findings suggest that the students' achievement can be ensured with the parents' involvement and the students' perception of their teachers' support by controlling intelligence.
