Abstract

Characters in Ernest Hemmingway’s A Farwell To Arms have two kinds of idealism, namely subjective idealism and objective idealism undergoes by the characters is hopeful, pessimistic and unmarried . The objective idealism is realistic and rationalistic. Characters in Ernest Hemmingway’s A Farewell To Arms have patriotism, they are spirited, motivated, and nationalistic. There is relationship between idealism and patriotism. They become persons having progressive patriotism. They form to be heroes and to become persons with solidarity.
