Abstract
The objectives of the study entitled Ebenezer Scrooge's Good And Bad Behavior in Charles Dickens'A Christmas Carol are (1) to analyze Ebenezer Scrooge's good and bad behavior. (2) to elaborate the causes of good and bad behavior on Ebenezer Scrooge. To formulate the analysis, the writer uses library research including the internet browsing to support the data. The primary data are taken from novel of A Christmas Carol. The theory of Character,Characterization, and Behavior is used to analyze the data. Moreover, the approaches used in this research are sociological approach and psychological approach. In this thesis, the writer only focuses on the main character,namely Ebenezer Scrooge. Ebenezer Scrooge has some bad behavior such as egoistic,stingy, and antisocial and he also has some good behavior such as sympathetic and empathic to the people around him. Bad behavior by Ebenezer Scrooge is caused by his father who has exiled him from his family and is having bad relationship with his fiancé.
