Abstract

In this research, the writer discusses preposition on that occurs in articles of Forum Magazine. The writer wants to study deeper about preposition on by analyzing the structure ofpreposition used in article of forum magazine, and the function of preposition on used in article of forum magazine. The writer uses the descriptive method in making this research, by collecting the data, classifying the data and making analysis. At last, the writer gives the conclusion. The source of data in making this research is the sentence taken from the Forum Magazine. Based on the research, the writer finds the structure of prepositional phrase. The structure of prepositional phrase using preposition on as follow:preposition on + properer rr noun 14 data (17,2%), and preposition on + nounphrasenou phr 61 data (83,6%). When the function of prepositional phrase which use preposition on in a sentence acts as an adverb. Besides that, adverb itselfis divided into three kinds,there are, indicating place 53 data (72,6%), indicating time 8 data (10,9%), and the last, indicating manner 13 data (17,8%).
