Abstract

In a process to obtain a product, whether the product requires a simple or complex process, the process is still necessary when the operational cost is not high. Ergonomics is a facilitator which makes the product comfortable and safe to use. Due to the function of Ergonomics, the design of this manual soybean breaker uses Ergonomic analysis. The data of this research are the selected samples taken by the use of random sampling. The data are called anthropometry (body dimension). The number of the samples is 30 persons, who are all female tempe makers in Prandon , Karang Tengah, Ngawi. The data processes apply statistical nonparametric analysis (chi-square), which is later used as initial criteria to design the size of the manual soybean breaker. The result of this research is a manual soybean breaker. It is a framed table of 69 cm wide and 82 cm high. The distance between the bicycle seat and the handle bar is 67 cm. The seat is 82 cm long and the funnel is 127 cm high. The height of the bicycle seat is 48 cm from the pedal axle. While, maximum load limit of this manual soybean breaker is 75 kg.
