Abstract
Tales as a literary work belong to fiction genre. In tales the element of fantasy is emphasized. Strange things, super heroes and miracles are exposed. Four up to eight year-old-children whose mind is dominated by fantasy commonly like tales. In this phase their ability on fantasy should be led towards positive things. By telling tales to children, educators (in this case, teachers or parents) can help them lead their fantasy and their intelligence. It Is in line with the social function of literature, that is, teaching something entertainingly. Of course, in tales telling, parents or teachers should be careful to choose the material and the technique appropriate to the children's age.
