Second, the efforts of joining middle class and third, the middle class people marital lives. In formulating the analysis, the library research including the internet browsing is used for collecting the data. The main source of the data is taken from middle class, marriage, setting and also social class. Additionally, the psychological and sociological approaches are applied in analyzing the data of the thesis. The research focuses on three characters, namely,Catherine Earnshaw,Frances Earnshaw and Heatcliff. Firstly, it is about the reasons of joining middle class.Catherine Earnshaw needs to be secured both status and fortune by her fine husband.Further,Frances Earnshaw wants to raise her status from nameless woman becoming the mistress of a mansion. Additionally, Heatclff tries to pay back Hindley Earnshaw and Edgar Linton for the sake of inferiority and jealousy. Secondly, the characters reach their ideals through several efforts.Catherine Earnshaw tries to reach her ideals through her decision in accepting true when she gets married to Hindley Earnshaw, the new master of Wuthering Heights. Heatcliff reaches her ideals to possess the two mansions of Wuthering Heights and Trusscross Grange through adopting the young and last heir of Wuthering Heights, Hareton Earnshaw, marrying Isabella Linton to strengthen his claim to Trushcross Grange, and reunifying the two mansions through his son,Linton and his niece,Catherine Linton's marriage. The middle class marital lives show that the characters reach their ideals through matrimony. Catherine Earnshaw lives prosperously as mistress of Thrushcross Grange and Mrs. Linton but has no affection toward her husband. After Heatcliff's arrival as a gentleman, Catherine regrets her decision in CatherincLinton. Frances Earnshaw enjoys her life as the mistress of Wuthering Frances's death drives Hindley Earnshaw's in ruin.
