Library researches including Internet browsing are applied to find the data that have to do with the topic of discussion. The data of the research are in the form of phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and even discourse relate to inferiority suffered by Heatchcliff in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights.Sociological and Psychological approaches are used to analyze the data in this thesis. Moreover, the theories that are used in this analysis are: inferiority, suffering, character, characterization, personality,bad-tempered, cruel, revenge, sociological, and psychological approaches. Heatchcliff's inferiority is caused by the other characters' bad-treatments.Hindley never regards Heatchcliff as his adopted brother for he sends Heatchcliff into a servant. Besides, Hindley also prohibits Heatchcliff to do something valuable for him and to play with Catherine. Moreover, Heatchcliff's inferiority is also caused by Catherine's bad-treatment.Actually Heatchcliff and Catherine love to each other, but Catherine betrays Heatchcliff's love by marrying Edgar Linton. Finally, Edgar Linton makes Heatchcliff an inferior. Although Edgar knows that Heatchcliff and Catherine love to each other, Edgar asks Catherine to marry him.Edgar always regards Heatchcliff as a servant, not as Mr. Earnshaw's adopted son or Catherine's friend. This inferiority gives bad effects toward Heatchcliff's personality changes. After suffering inferiority, Heatchcliff becomes a bad-tempered cruel and vengeful man. In general, it can be said that the sufferer of inferiority must be overcame by controlling it. When the sufferer cannot overcome it, this inferiority will give bad effects toward the sufferer and his society. The example of the effect is personality change. Then, inferiority can be controlled by developing the sufferer's self-confident, and by moving or having a better environment to stay. Therefore, the decreasing of inferiority makes the sufferer get better life and personality.
