Abstract

This study is focused on Hedda's aggression and the reason of Hedda's aggression. The writer is interested to discuss Hedda's aggression in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler because Hedda has a bravery to do something extremely or aggression and finish her life with suicide. The problems of this study are what are Hedda's aggression in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler and what are the reasons of Hedda's aggression in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler The data corpuses of this research are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and further discourse.They are in the form of dialogues. Meanwhile, in data collection, library research including internet browsing is applied. Then, in this research, psychological approach is used to be focused on Hedda's acts. Hedda's aggressions in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler are hurting the other people, denying her pregnancy and destroying the other live. Meanwhile,the reasons of Hedda's aggressions in Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler are Hedda's background of life and Hedda's frustration. Hedda's background of life is divided into two, those are Hedda's life and Hedda's character, and Hedda's aggressions are divided into four, those are Hedda's expectation, standard social appearance,lack of attention from her husband and sexual jealousy. Finally, these aggressions are ended with Hedda's suicide.
