Abstract

The objectives of research An Analysis of Imagery In John Keat's Poem are:(1) find out the kinds of imageries in the poem and analyze them,(2) find out the functions of metaphor and simile in the poem. The data taken from John Keats' poem. Library research and Internet browsing are used to find the related studies. Related studies are used to form the conceptual models. The conceptual models are used to find the data in the poem. There are six kinds of imageries, namely visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory,gustatory and kinesthetic. The writer analyzes simile and metaphor in poem too. The Data corpus consist of words, phrases, sentences in the poem of The Eve of St. Agnes. The poem analyzed descriptively using structural approach. The result of analysis in chapter III and it is concluded in chapter IV.
