Abstract
Human beings are the important factor in the enhancement of the quality of a company. In spite of the fact that in this era, modern machines mostly substitute for manpower, mankinds still play a crucial role in an institution or company. Hence, an effective method of selection is indispensable to recruit qualified employees, so any employee could be highly competitive in occupying certain positions offered. This research aims to know (1) the method of employee recruitment applied by the human resources department in a company, (2) to identify the problems that emerge in the recruiting process conducted by the company, (3) to find some alternative ways to overcome the problems intended. This study belongs to a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the research are the employees of Kopkar "MEKAR" of PT. Gudang Garam Kediri. The data collecting method used is observation and interview. While, the data analysis is done by describing the collected data.
