Abstract

In this research, the writer disscused about deixis especially erson deixis that occurs in “Victorian ghost Stories by mike stocks" the story have three stories which the writer analyze: The open door, A long distancecall, and the shadow of a Ghost. Library method is done to find the underlying theories,namely the definitions of pragmatics deixis, addresse term, speech act, and meaning. In this thesis, the writer uses descriptive methode. It is done by reading, some studies that relate to the person deixis finding the person deixis in the stories, collecting, classifying analyzing and tabulating the data. The data are analyzed descriptively. The result of data analysis, reveal tree kinds f person deixis. They are person deixix based on social status (20%), person deixis based on rank (6%),person deixis based on occupation identty set (12%). The purpose of using of person deixis in the conversation are: expressive (3%) and declarative (25%).
